The Korean Tourism Organization (KTO) has come on board as sponsor of the European Taekwondo Championships in Manchester.

Steve Flynn, Commercial Manager at GB Taekwondo said: “We’re delighted that KTO have agreed to sponsor the GB Taekwondo team and the European Taekwondo Championships. Taekwondo is the national sport of Korea so it is a natural fit.”

KTO Director Mr. Hongki Kim said: “We are very happy to be a sponsor of the ‘European Taekwondo Championships’ and look forward to engaging with the audiences that such a partnership will allow access too. We are also happy to provide our knowledge and expertise to further stimulate interest in Korea as the ‘home of Taekwondo.”

Korea is one of Asia’s hidden gems and a land full of surprises creating a totally new holiday experience. The country boasts a spectacular landscape, 5000 years of tradition & culture, and a very warm welcome to visitors. Korea is a geographically and culturally diverse destination, ideal for martial arts groups and individuals, especially with a new Taekwondo Park opening in Muju next year. Activities range from Temple Stays to Taekwondo lessons or visiting hot springs to hiking volcanic craters.  Visit the former capital and cultural heart of the country, Gyeongju, designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage area or Jeju Island a ‘New7wonder’ of nature.

The European Taekwondo Championships take place at Sportcity, Manchester on 3rd - 6th May and will feature Great Britain’s leading 2012 hopefuls as they bid for European glory as well as a place on the British Olympic team.
