Each year a President has challenges, visions, and a budget to work with. But I know the best laid plans either come to fruition or you scramble to make adjustments to the last minute delays, or at best, pick up the pieces. We are all volunteers in our roles for the Board of Directors, and what most members don't realize is that it is the involvement of dedicated individuals WHO are empowered to make a difference.
Case in point... a member didn't feel that a session was beneficial to their attendance.. and therefore got involved to produce what will be the meeting event of this year! Each of the events/meetings don't ever please everyone, but it's that one who may feel they can make a difference who will produce an over the top, local educational event that is meaningful to most. And meaningful to me.
It starts with an idea and a commitment to get involved. A passion to make a difference on the local level. It's all about the team, about the members and communicating a vision.
I hope this year YOU the members are seeing a difference... in the passion of these "active members" who want to bring a new view, vibrant events, and most of all rewarding elements to our members.
I want to thank all those involved (Board of Directors, Committee Members!) from beginning to the end of this journey to make the Greater Orlando Area "Stronger.Together." because it is showing... and we are just in October!
Here is to greater things to come for GOAMPI!
