Teaching moments,
come along when something significant happens in our lives, but when you’re an
event professional, those magical moments can come to us by choice. We grow as people as we choose to educate
ourselves, personally and professionally.
It is in these very moments of learning or discovering a new way we can
make an impact on the world around us that we often reflect on later in life. There’s still time to immerse yourself in
education, networking, and quite a few ‘aha’ moments this year at MPI’s WA/OR
joint educational conference; Cascadia 2012, March 4-6 in Tacoma WA. www.mpicascadia.com
It has
been said, ‘Great people never stop
learning’ and ‘It isn’t over till it’s over.’ Registration for Cascadia is still open, along
with opportunities for additional exposure through Sponsorship and the Silent
Auction. When you become a
sponsor on any level at an MPI event, the attending event professionals
attending see your brand and name as an icon at the event (in more ways than
one). Sponsors also have what I like to
call the "TTT (‘Triple Time Threat’) marketing factor"; exposure before, during, AND after the
conference. Download the
Sponsorship form here
The Silent
Auction is also a great way to gain the benefits of presenting your brand in a positive light, without breaking the
budget. When attendees see your name, or
company attached to an item on the auction table, they will appreciate that you
are willing to donate to the industry and a great cause. Sometimes the best donations are not tangible
things, ( like printing a banner, or donating a collectible) they are
‘semi-tangible’ and can be of low to no cost to the one donating them (an empty
hotel room, show tickets, or a free consultation). No matter how small your donation may seem, who
doesn’t want to stand out as being ‘a good seed?’ Download
the Silent Auction form here.
Not only MPI Members
can get the ‘discounted prices’ for attending the conference!...Our ‘friends by
association’ can also get the lower rates by checking the proper boxes when they
register online for any of the following
Associations they are members of:
PCMA, NACE, ISES, WNUSA, and ABC.
It’s never too late to get a full registration or same day pass,
and loads of event planners have already
saved up to $450 by getting their registration paid in full as part of the
hosted buyer program. Come join me at
Cascadia and there will be plenty of well-chosen teaching moments in your near
future.
