  • 1.  Memorable Moments for our Guests

    Good Afternoon Everyone -

In 2023 really looking to put a focus on Member Experience at our events including our Galas, Awards Ceremony, and Golf Outings. I'm wondering if anyone in this group has a great example of a special touch or memorable experience they provided for their guests that really hit home and made them feel special! One example that we have is for our awards ceremony in March 2022, where our valet was located to where our entrance into the building was, was a considerable distance so we hired pedicabs to pickup our guests at valet and ride them to the entrance playing music so they wouldn't have to walk. Another example is that our golf outing in 2022, we offered personalized cookies with our logo and each players name on them. These were placed in their golf carts upon arrival and really provided a memorable moment for our guests. What have you or your Association done to bring memorable moments to your events that your guests will remember? Thank you for sharing!!

Brent (sorry for the multiple responses),

Love your examples - here's a couple to consider

    • Awards
      • Step and Repeat with red carpet with pictures of members through the year
      • Live interview on the Red Carpet that is running live on the screens in the Ballroom (have someone fun in the association/that can ham it up)
      • Everyone gets X - kick off the show with a QR code on the screen that links out to a gift/discount or something of value for everyone (or a QR code step and repeat with sponsor benefits)
      • Centerpieces with photo's of members in them
    • Golf
      • Make one hole a "Match" challenge (Tiger vs. Brady) - and as groups come to that hole - have a 2 camera video crew mic them up and record the banter, put a go-pro in each cart - edit and send after the event (and do a 45 second best of cut for social posting - so those members will tag/forward) LINK
      • Have a Pairings announcement before the tournament begins - get (2) funny members or Improv actors to read off the names and make comments "In this pair we have a 10 year member of CAR..but doesn't quite have a 10 handicap...how high do handicaps go?"
      • Vinyl clings on the carts (with member names and their companies)

    Hope that helps
