With over 20 years experience in the Meetings Industry, I started my career in the hotel business. Further stations were than Project Manager with a Professional Congress Organizer (PCO), Marketing Manager for a fair organizer of tourism trade fairs and Sales Manager with an Incentive house in Germany.
Furthermore I worked 3,5 years as an Sales and Marketing Manager Conventions at the Estrel Hotel & Convention Center Berlin - Europe's largest hotel-, convention- and entertainment complex with 1,125 rooms. During this time I was in the Marketing Team of the pre- opening of the Estrel Convention Center, which offers a capacity for up to 5,000 people.
In 2001 I started to develop the congress department at Berlin Tourismus & Kongress GmbH (visitBerlin). As the Director Conventions of the visitBerlin Berlin Convention Office I am leading a team of about 11 employees and three interns. In my position I am responsible for the world-wide marketing of Berlin as one of the leading congress-, meetings- and incentive destinations.
Two degree's in management and marketing are the basis for my professional activities. I am a Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) since July 2006.
I have been actively involved in diverse associations of the Meetings Industry for many years now: I joined MPI in 2002 and was a member of the host committee of the MPI Professional Education Conference Berlin in 2003. At the moment I am a Board member of the MPI Germany Chapter. Furthermore I am the Vice-President of Meetings Industry of European Cities Marketing (ECM) and active in the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives (SITE) Germany Chapter.
My future goals: be an active part in the Meetings Industry to create a closer network with clients and colleagues arround the world to develop our industry as an important part of the economy.
